Group Class Details & Ettiquette
*** There may be a class before yours so please wait outside until the other class leaves or the trainer waves you in. ***
WHERE: Ruff Relations, 4501 Southwestern Blvd, Hamburg, NY 14075. It’s a big tan building across the street from Tractor Supply. The training entrance is the 2nd glass door on the right side of the building and is labeled TRAINING ENTRANCE.
What we need from you:
* PROOF OF VACCINATIONS: distemper/parvo are required for all puppies and dogs attending class, rabies is required for all dogs 6 months of age and older – you can email your records to [email protected] or text a photo to 716-803-2014
* PAYMENT – must be received within 24hrs of enrollment in order to secure your place in class. You can pay online when you enroll or you can come to the store front (1st glass door on the rights side of building, labeled DAYCARE ENTRANCE) and pay any time during business hours Tues - Fri 7am-6pm.
WHAT TO BRING:
• Treats: bring plenty of small, easy to break/consume treats. Soft treats typically work well.
• A flat buckle color, quick release or martingale collar and a 4-6ft non-chain, non-retractable, non-bungy leash. No chain leashes or retractable leashes are allowed in class. Harnesses that clip to the back are NOT RECOMMENDED as they offer little control and give dogs more leverage to pull on leash. Gentle leaders, head halters, front clip/easy walk harnesses are acceptable if needed. Please make sure your dogs gear is fitted properly so they are not able to slip out of collars or harnesses.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
*Please maintain a 6ft distance from other students/dogs
* Keep your leash short and close so you have good control of your dog.
* Do not allow your dog to approach other dogs or other people on leash.
* Potty your dog in the grassy area out back before coming in.
* Clean up after your dog. If you need a bag, please ask.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: While we normally encourage everyone in the family to attend and work with the dog, young children should not attend as they tend to get bored and become disruptive.
MISSED CLASSES: classes are non-refundable. We can offer for you to attend one week in another class in a future session if you must miss a class and wish to make it up.
